Gestures and Presidential presence

As a communication consultant I’m often asked to rate Presidential candidates and their communications styles. I use the term “Presidential presence” when describing candidates’ vocal behavior, body language, and overall delivery. Last week WCCO reporter Heather Brown asked for my professional opinion specifically about hand gestures during the November 10th GOP debate. Gestures must emphasize the point one intends to make.
